Notre Dame High School's Fine Arts Department instills in students, an appreciation of the arts through meaningful participation in a variety of creative projects and performances. Through an understanding of the rewards and difficulties of artistic expression, students enrich themselves and others in music, dance, theatre, and visual art. Jeff McIntosh

Jeff McIntosh holds a B.S. and Master of Music in Music Education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He directs the concert band, jazz band, pep band, and percussion band. Prior to joining the Notre Dame faculty in 1999, Mr. McIntosh served as Adjunct Professor of Music at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He continues to work as a professional musician and has performed with such artists as The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Spinners, The O'Jays, Mel Torme, and Sarah Vaughn.

 

 

Cleo Gravitt

Cleo Gravitt attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and has certification to teach ballet, tap, and jazz. She is a member of Dance Masters of America National Dance Organization, and the Alabama Dance Ambassadors Touring Company. Mrs. Gravitt, who has taught Dance Classes at Notre Dame since 1999, also taught for 17 years at the Jackie O'Neal School of Dance in Birmingham, Alabama. She currently teaches classes at Kathy's School of Dance in East Brainerd. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she coaches Notre Dame's two Dance Teams as well as the football and basketball cheerleading squads.

  

 

John Lennon

John Lennon is in his seventh year at Notre Dame and has enjoyed every minute of it. He has a B.S. degree in Theatre from Middle Tennessee State University. He has twice been selected Outstanding Teacher in Tennessee by the Governor's School for The Arts. Mr. Lennon heads the Theatre Department , directing 3 major productions each year and teaches Theatre I, II, and III. He has also taught Theology I and Introduction to Film, and uses his All-American Wrestling skills as Assistant Wrestling Coach.

 

 

Isabel Miller

Isabel Miller joined the Notre Dame faculty in 2006. She holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, a M.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech, and she is currently completing a M.Ed in Mathematics Secondary Education. Ms. Miller teaches Geometry and Chorus, and she directs the Notre Dame Music Ministry program. She is the Coordinator of Music at St. Stephen Catholic Church, and she previously served for three years as music teacher at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School.

   

Carrie Pendergrass

Carrie Pendergrass joined the Notre Dame faculty in 2007.  She holds a B.F.A. degree in studio art, with a concentration in painting from the University of Tennessee and a M.Ed. from UTC. She has worked in the education department of the Creative Discovery Museum, with the CDM doing everything from public art instruction to painting exhibits, in the Hamilton County Schools through an Allied Arts grant initiative program and as a freelance art instructor and for such agencies as Senior Neighbors of Chattanooga, Chattanooga Parks and Recreation department, and the Gordon Art Center in Calhoun, GA. She has also worked as a freelance artist, primarily as a mural painter.
