STARS

The STARS annual leadership retreat was held Wednesday, September 5, at Greenway Farm in Hixson. Seven students learned importance of teamwork through low-ropes initiatives, canoeing, and problem solving.

CAMFEL Productions, a high-energy motivational program, was featured at the STARS commitment kick off program on Tuesday, August 28. The program, “Charting Your Course”, encouraged students to seize the day, work hard to achieve, reach for their dreams--and in the process, encourage others to do the same.

Following the presentation, the students had the opportunity to make a one-year commitment to abstain from drugs and violence in an effort to aspire for greatness.

October Lung Fest will be held at the Tennessee Aquarium on October 4th at 6:30. This is a fun, family-style event where individuals and teams can participate in activities, visit booths to learn more about lung disease and clean air and walk to raise funds for the fight against lung disease. For further information, please call the American Lung Association of Tennessee at 629-1098.
