Total Credits |
Most students enrolled in Notre Dame for four years
graduate with 27–28 credits.
In addition to the College Preparatory curriculum,
Advanced Placement courses are offered for students seeking college credit
for their high school work. Dual enrollment courses in which students
receive both high school and college credit are also offered. These courses
are taught on and off campus by faculty from Chattanooga State Technical
Community College.
The school year is divided into four nine-week grading
periods covering a time span of two semesters. Students normally take seven
classes each semester, and some students gain additional credit through
independent study, university-sponsored correspondence courses, and college
courses taken in the late afternoon and evening at local colleges and
universities. The school day for students begins at 8:10 and ends at 3:10
pm. Students have a daily opportunity for individual assistance from
teachers during eighth period, or at other times by appointment.
Notre Dame High School issues a report card at the end of
each nine-week term. Parents and
students can access online progress reports and other curricular
information through their own password protected Edline accounts at anytime. Parent-teacher-student conferences follow the mid-term progress
reports and other conferences may be arranged as needed.
Notre Dame High School has a modified block schedule.
Classes meet for 90 minutes, five times every two weeks. Every Wednesdays,
there is an open period for club and organization activity. |
