Senior College Preparaion Activities

Seniors are expected to be ready to apply to their list of colleges and take the ACT and or SAT for college admissions and scholarships.

GUIDANCE WILL HELP OBTAIN COLLEGE APPLICATIONS.  THE FOLLOWING PROCESS SHOULD BE FOLLOWED.

  1. Request applications via telephone, Internet, mail, or the Guidance office.

  2. Complete applications accurately and neatly.

  3. Decide on which teachers you will ask for Letters of Recommendations.

  4. Bring completed applications including essays, recommendations and fees to Mrs. Stone.

  5. Complete a Transcript Request Form.

  6. Mrs. Stone will review application and alert you of any deficiencies.

  7. Mrs. Stone will forward your application to Mrs. Caldwell.

  8. Mrs. Caldwell will send your application with your official transcript and keep a record of what was mailed and when your application was mailed.


  • Update, type and submit to Mrs. Stone your final Activities Resume.

  • Retake ACT/SAT to improve scores.

  • Apply as early as possible following the procedure above.

  • Check the Scholarship boxes and board often.

  • Check the Guidance Information bulletin board often.

  • Check the announcements, myndhs.com and Edline for updated information.

  • Request recommendations at least two weeks before deadlines.

  • DON'T JUST MEET DEADLINES ~ BEAT DEADLINES!

  • Let Guidance know when you are accepted to college or receive any scholarships.

  • Keep grades up ~ colleges always reserve the right to reverse offerings of admission if grades drop significantly.

  • If all the above was completed successfully ~ RELAX and ENJOY!!!
