Dear Notre Dame Family,
As we enter
the last quarter of the 2007-08 school year, we should take time to count
our blessings and welcome the coming of spring. Our students will make
lifetime memories during Easter break, prom, athletic events and graduation;
therefore, our focus during these and many other spring events will be their
safety.
Over the
past few weeks, we have read the unfortunate news about school-age teens in
our tri-state community involved in car accidents resulting in death and/or
serious injury, the arrest of students for under age drinking and tragic
deaths due to prescription drug overdose.
At Notre
Dame, we are very fortunate to have many great students and parents who take
their responsibilities very seriously. Our school takes a very proactive
stand with educational programs, drug testing and discipline programs that
all focus on good choices and a safe school environment; however, it is the
parents and families that hold the key to success in this area.
I encourage
you to stay close to your children, know where they are going, know who they
are with and talk to other parents about their plans and activities. As
parents we must take the time to be involved with the day-to-day life of our
children.
Our students
and all young people today face many challenges. Our hope and desire is that
with our spiritual and education preparation, our students will be equipped
to deal with life’s challenges.
In closing,
I want to thank you for your support, prayers and partnership with Notre
Dame High School. Together, we will continue our work with young men and
women by challenging them to grow in their faith, their educational
preparation and their emotional maturity.
God Bless,
Perry L. Storey, Principal
